THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR HARD WORK!
WEEK 7: DUE Friday, October 19
For Friday, you will need to come up with an idea for your GENIUS HOUR focus. Talk to your family and your friends. I've included our other video in case you would like to view it again. Fill out the following sheet and bring it back on Friday.
(ALSO practise your 4x tables, please. :-)
WEEK 6: DUE Friday, October 12
1. WRITING: This week, your task is to describe a fall scene. It might include a colourful tree, a pile of pumpkins, or a golden apple pie. Be sure to have an interesting topic sentence, 3 details, and 2 explanation sentences for each of your details. Use PLENTY of adjectives (describing words) to help the reader visualize the scene (consider taste, sight, sounds, touch, etc.).
** Be EXTRA CAREFUL to add 's/es', ing, and 'ow/ou' correctly!.
2. MULTIPLICATION: 3 TIMES TABLES
That's right... we are heading back to threes. You know them, now practise them to be even quicker!
3. SPELLING
Write down the rules for using an apostrophe correctly (an apostrophe is the punctuation that looks like a comma but it hangs up in the air). HINT: there are two different uses. Also look up how to use an apostrophe when a word ends in s.

WEEK 5: THURSDAY, OCTOBER 4
1. WRITING: Thanksgiving is fast approaching. This week, please write a paragraph to express your gratitude (why you are grateful) to someone who has been a positive influence in your life. Take a minute to REALLY think about all that they do for you and how they helped you to be the wonderful individual that you are.
Your paragraph should be proper paragraph form (topic sentence, strong detail, strong detail, strong detail and concluding sentence). Use TWO sentences to explain each detail. Oh! Be sure to show that person before you hand it in on THURSDAY. It will make you and that special person feel GREAT!
2. MULTIPLICATION: 5 TIMES TABLES
Strategy: If you have a fact memorized, start your counting there instead of starting from zero each time.
Example: You may know that 5x5=25, so start counting at 25 for 5X6, 5X7, 5X8, etc.
3. SPELLING: OU / OW
USE 'OU' Beginning of Words (Example: ouch, ounce, our)
Middle of words (Examples: blouse, couch, ground, mouse, sour)
USE 'OW" End of words (Examples: blow, cow, mow, allow, plow
If word ends in: N, L, EL, ER
Examples N: brown, clown, down, drown, frown, gown, town
L: fowl (bird), howl, growl, prowl, scowl
EL: towel, trowel, vowel
ER: flower (plant), tower
Here are some worksheets to help, if you would like! (Optional)
